This past weekend Debbie and I had the opportunity to go to Nashville gallery hopping in hopes of finding a gallery for my work. We were successful in that venture, as Bennett Galleries in Nashville will be my new representative. And we are very excited about that.
But we also had a wonderful time discovering Leiper’s Creek Gallery and David Arms Studio. I had known about Leipers Creek Gallery for some time as they represent two of my favorite Southern Landscape artists, Roger Dale Brown and Ann Blair Brown. (Side note, I guess one has to have a first, middle and last name to be a great landscape painter in TN).
What I did not know was how fantastic the gallery and town of Leipers Creek is. Owner Lisa Fox spent so much time with us and is the perfect fit in the role of eclectic gallery owner. Great, great work and beautiful space.
The other treat was meeting the artist David Arms at his gallery next door. David is a nationally known artist whose paintings contain messages and symbols of his faith and encouragement, hope and rebirth. We were lucky to be there on the day he was in the gallery, and he was so approachable and friendly. You can’t leave his space not feeling a little bit uplifted, with renewed hope.
