Through the years of being an artist, the percentage of my work has consistently grown by the number of Commission pieces I've been asked to do. Although they can be some of the more stressful paintings, because obviously my intent is to achieve as close as possible the final image that my client sees in their mind's eye. But they also are some of the most rewarding works as well. I welcome the challenge of creating a lifetime memory for you and your family.
One artistic advantage to commission work is that from a concept and composition standpoint, usually the painting already has a story. After we or the gallery discuss details of subject matter, size, we can quote you a price. My commission pricing is rarely more expensive than the work I produce for gallery sales. Because of the specific nature of most commissions we do ask for a 25% percent deposit, which simply helps me with upfront material costs. Balance is due upon final approval. Some commissions that are typically general subject matter that I normally paint for my galleries (i.e. a city landmark or something we can sell through the gallery); I do not require the deposit. I would never expect you to feel obligated if you aren't 100% satisfied.
My goal is to offer the highest quality, most unique piece of artwork. I hope you will enjoy my work as much as I enjoy bringing it to you.
